MEMBERSHIP: TYPES, DUES AND BENEFITS
Student Member
Eligibility: Membership is open to any person who (i) is engaged or enrolled in an approved course of study at a college or university in the United States or an equivalent course of student in a foreign country and (ii) supports the purpose of the Organization.
Membership Year: Membership is annual. The membership year begins on January 1st and expires on December 31st of the same year regardless of purchase date. Members must renew their membership beginning January 1st of each year.
Membership Dues: FREE
Membership Benefits:
- Professional development dinners and events.
- Access to the mentoring program for free.
- AfriMETRO Journal for free.
- Access to charitable events and opportunity to participate in African-based community service.
Regular Member
Eligibility: Membership is open to any person of African descent or anyone who has an interest and commitment to the AfriMETRO purpose and holds an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
Membership Year: Membership is annual. The membership year begins on January 1st and expires on December 31st of the same year regardless of purchase date. Members must renew their membership beginning January 1st of each year.
Membership Dues: FREE

- Access to the mentoring program for free.
- AfriMETRO Journal for free.
- Access to charitable events and opportunity to participate in African-based community service.

Associate Member
Eligibility: Membership is open to any person of African descent or anyone who has an interest and commitment to the AfriMETRO purpose and holds an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
Membership Year: Membership is annual. The membership year begins on January 1st and expires on December 31st of the same year regardless of purchase date. Members must renew their membership beginning January 1st of each year.
Membership Dues: $50, as amended by the Board of Directors from year to year.

- Access to professional development workshops and events at deep discounted prices.
- Discounted admission to events.
- Involvement in planning of events on AfriMETRO subcommittees and may run for office and directorship.
- Access to the mentoring program for free.
- AfriMETRO Journal for free.

Preferred Member
Eligibility: Membership is open to any person of African descent or anyone who has an interest and commitment to the AfriMETRO purpose and holds an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
Membership Year: Membership is annual. The membership year begins on January 1st and expires on December 31st of the same year regardless of purchase date. Members must renew their membership beginning January 1st of each year.
Membership Dues: $100, as amended by the Board of Directors from year to year.
Membership Benefits:
- Access to development workshops and events for free.
- Dinners and events for free.
- Involvement in planning of events on AfriMETRO subcommittees and may run for office and directorship.
- Free admission to all events.
- Access to the mentoring program for free.
- Free admission to the AfriMETRO Holiday Gala.
Honorary Member
Eligibility: Membership is opened to any person who (i) is a seasoned professional mentor of the AfriMETRO Mentoring Program or (ii) the Board of Directors of the Organization deems a “Honorary Member” and (ii) supports the purpose of the Organization.
Membership Year: Membership is annual. The membership year begins on January 1st and expires on December 31st of the same year regardless of purchase date. Members must renew their membership beginning January 1st of each year..
Membership Dues: N/A
