This year, we will host our inaugural Annual Holiday Gala benefitting Global Literacy Project,
Inc., a 501c3 tax exempt nonprofit organization ("GLP"), at the NYU Kimmel Center, 60 Washington
Square South, New York City, on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 6pm – 10pm. We are expecting
our inaugural Annual Holiday Gala to attract a dynamic and diverse group of professionals and
dignitaries, including community leaders, government officials, and professionals from a variety
industries. A portion of the proceeds from the Annual Holiday Gala will be donated to the GLP. For more

At the Annual Holiday Gala, we will honor deserving individuals with the AfriMETRO Pinnacle
Award (a prestigious award reserved for a person of African descent with outstanding professional
and other accomplishments), the AfriMETRO Distinguished Professional Award (reserved for a person
of African descent who has distinguished himself/herself in his/her profession), the AfriMETRO Image
Award (reserved for a person of African descent who, through their talent and/or service, is building a
new positive image of and appreciation for Africa and Africans), the AfriMETRO Friend of Africa Award
(reserved for a person of any heritage whose humanitarian and/or philanthropic efforts have benefitted
the African community), and the AfriMETRO Community Hero Award (reserved for a person of African
heritage whose humanitarian efforts benefit the African community). We will also feature an engaging
keynote speaker.
